Other than that, I've recently been accepted to attend my first University interview. The interview will consist of bringing a portfolio of my best work. This will be held at the University of Wolverhampton in the Art and Design department. I'm already nervous about it even though it isn't held until the 8th February. But still, I'm just greatful that I've already been accepted to one. Hopefully, my other applications will follow in the coming weeks!
About Tom
- Tom Latham
- Wolverhampton, West Midlands, United Kingdom
- I'm 19 years old and I'm hoping to become a full-fledged graphic designer/illustrator once I complete my years at University. I love being imaginative, creative and innovative in my own way. I also like to work on professional standards, as I'm never really happy with my outcomes.

Good Morning Tom!
After a large amount of blood, sweat and tears... Ok, mabe not. My work has now been labeled and showcased on memyart.com. As well as this, check it out! It's a great site for College and University students to upload and show off their work.

Under Milkwood Graphic Novel Concepts
Here, are a range of concept paintings I created about a year ago. The idea behind these, was based on listening to an audio-based story. I then roughly illustrated the story from what I was listening to, which then turned out to be in a Welsh environment. These concept paintings went towards my graphic novel, Under Milkwood. Which was a successful Unit. Water colour paint was used on an A3 canvas.

Hello And Welcome!
Hello there, it's Tom or some of you may already know and refer to me as "Latham". Welcome and thanks for visiting my very own, public blog! Well, I've never really created a blog in the past so I thought it would be a good idea to expand and give it a whirl. This will be the starting point for myself as well as my future followers in the months/years to come. So stay tuned!
Now, a little bit about me. I'm 17 years old and half way through my final year at College. At the moment, I'm studying Graphic Design and want to begin my studies in the field of Illustration at University. Ever since I started school, I loved to design, well, I pretty much thrived off it. However, I am still in the early stages of trying to discover my own artistic style and flare.
What is Spacious Escapism you ask? Well, the name came from thinking about my favourite movement in design (Which is surrealism based) and how it involves escaping from ones comfort zone to produce weird, yet wonderful things. I know, not really the prettiest name you'd suggest, but I never said I was a professional at names now, did I? Well, I might consider a new name change in the future. Anyways! Apart from the rambling on which I have a habbit of. This blog will consist of being my own online exhibition for my work. And my goal, is to explore and discover new facets in Illustration and Graphic Image Making. So I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I will and expect the unexpected!
